Herman Edward Adkins, Jr., 83 of Madisonville passed away Monday, February 23, 2026, at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing. Born March 20, 1942, to the late Herman and Elsie (Babb) Adkins, Sr. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy after several years of service. Herman then worked and retired from UC Milk Company in Madisonville. He enjoyed watching and was a fan of Nascar Racing. Most of all, Herman was proud of and appreciated his family.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Adkins; son, Robert Edward Adkins; and brother, James Adkins.

Survived by his daughter, Gale (Kenneth) Nelson of Hanson; step-son, Kevin (Jennifer) Hancock; 8 grandchildren, Jeremy (Heather) Hibbs, Jessica (Ryan) Label, Dylan Locke, Brandon Adkins, Kaily Hancock, Mason Hancock, Easton Hancock, and Keaton Hancock; great-granddaughter, Abbie Siferd; brother, John (Carolyn) Adkins; and sister, Nancy (Larny) Robertson.

Services will be private for family.
